Life simulation games like The Sims and Paralives have been popular for a long time, with the former leading the market. However, very few look into the magic and possibilities that text-based life simulation games provide. One such game is Bitlife.
Since 2018, BitLife has offered players exciting adventures where they can do pretty much anything. The player controls a randomly generated (or custom) character and navigates through life’s many predicaments. In this sense, it has the simulation part down pat.
BitLife’s developers have taken to releasing weekly challenges in the game as a fun activity for players. The first challenge of this sort to go live was the Alphabet Challenge, which was active from February 22nd to February 28th, 2020. Since then, we’ve had countless creative challenges to complete in the game.
Most of them are references to other media pieces like movies and books. The same is true for the Eat Pray Love Bitlife Challenge, which we’ll focus on today.

What is the Eat Pray Love Bitlife Challenge?
Based on the book Eat, Pray, Love, the Eat Pray Love challenge is a challenge in Bitlife. The book itself is a 2006 memoir by author Elizabeth Gilbert. The full name of the book is Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia.
Unfortunately, the challenge in the game itself is expired and players cannot complete it anymore. It ran from March 27th, 2021 to March 31st, 2021. Although this is true, it can’t hurt to learn more about the different types of challenges we’ve experienced throughout the years in BitLife. That way, we can be better prepared for future challenges that await!
Per its description, the Eat Pray Love Bitlife Challenge requires you to “Develop an appetite for life, love, and pursuit of good food as you travel the world in this challenge!” But what does that mean in the context of the game?
How to complete the Eat Pray Love Challenge
The challenge in the game, like many others, is a great reference to the events of the memoir itself. Those who have already read the book will know what they need to do. However, if you haven’t had time to read Eat, Pray, Love, we’ll provide a quick recap!
The main character of the book, author Elizabeth Gilbert, is a famous American author who has gone through a divorce. After her divorce, she decided to spend a year traveling the world with her publishing company funding her travels, for which she had to write a memoir about them.
Gilbert goes on to spend four months in Italy, eating and enjoying life. She then moves on to India, where she spends three months finding her spirituality. Finally, she ends her journey in Bali, Indonesia. Here, Elizabeth tries to find a balance between the two and ends up meeting a Brazilian businessman, whom she falls in love with.
As you can see, these three portions of her journey make up the title that is Eat, Pray, Love.
From here, we can figure out that the player needs to reenact this memoir in BitLife to complete the Eat Pray Love Bitlife Challenge.
Step-by-step Guide
The following is a step-by-step guide on how to complete this challenge.
- Be born in the United States
To do this, the player needs to start a new life. Depending on whether you’re a Bitizen or not, you can simply choose to be born anywhere in the US. However, if you don’t want to pay for Bitizenship, you’ll have to reroll your life until your character is born in the United States.
- Become a famous author
To become a famous author, you’ll need to get a job as a Writer in the Publishing career. However, there are a few more steps to complete, first.
You’ll have to have high Smarts to undertake this. Once you generate your character, you’ll get a random value for the Smarts stat ranging from 0 to 100. Although you can raise your Smarts through in-game actions, it helps to start with a higher value.
To raise your Smarts, you can do the following actions:
- Use Boosts
- Watch a Documentary
- Education – Study in school and go to University
- Work harder
- Go to the Library
- Memory Test minigame
- Read books
- Make smarter decisions
- Garden
To get a degree in English, head to the Education tab and select University. If you don’t have English as an option in the drop-down menu that appears, you’ll have to restart your game.
It’s important to note that it’s a lot easier to get a job as a Writer when you have a degree in English. However, you can skip this step if you like.
- Get divorced
To get divorced, you’ll obviously have to be married first. You can find a significant other through the Love option in the Activities tab. Their stats don’t really matter as you’ll be divorcing them anyway.
Build your relationship with your significant other and eventually marry them. After getting married, you need to be mean to them and act out in the relationship.
The easiest way to do this is to cheat on them. Usually, they’ll confront you after you cheat on them. You can choose any of the negative options such as arguing with them, insulting them, fighting them, and more.
Eventually, your spouse will want to divorce you. To complete the challenge, you need to agree to the divorce and part ways with your spouse.
- Experience Mediterranean food in Italy
After divorcing your spouse, your character will need to travel to Italy. While in Italy, you need to change your Diet from the Mind and Body option in the Activities tab.
If you have the option, select Mediterranean from the drop-down list. If you don’t have the option, you can age up and check back to see if it appears.
- Achieve inner peace in India
Once you’ve experienced Mediterranean food in Italy, you need to travel to India.
When you get there, head to the Mind and Body option again in the Activities tab. From there, you need to select Meditate to complete this requirement.
- Find love in Indonesia
Your next stop is Indonesia. Here, you’ll need to find a significant other through the Love option once again.
Once you’ve found someone, you need to build up your relationship again. When your relationship is high enough, you’ll need to marry your significant other.
