Hunk of Junk Story Walkthrough
Here are all the tasks you need to achieve 100% on the Hunk of Junk story mission in order. Just remember that it is best to do them as you come across them to make the process much easier to track.
Now that Han Solo and Chewbacca are on board with the plan, the time to leave Tatooine has come. Unsurprisingly, the Millennium Falcon still needs repairs and stormtroopers are hot on your tail. Your party for the entire mission is made up of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi, and R2-D2. The mission is a blast to play and is one of the fan favorites from the game.
Challenge #1: Absolute Scoundrel
Once the mission starts you control Han solo in a blaster fight with a group of stormtroopers. Right above which is a balcony, since Han Solo is a Scoundrel a prompt appears. To earn the Absolute Scoundrel challenge you need to use the environment to your advantage against stormtroopers. This is the perfect choice to do this, use the balcony prompt revealed to Han Solo and shoot down the balcony. The falling debris will crush the stormtroopers and grant you the completed challenge.
Challenge #2: Don’t Get Cocky
With the first wave dealt with it is time to explore your surroundings and improve your defenses. With how long it’s gonna take to repair the Millennium Falcon you will need to set it up. While exploring also make sure to collect studs to reach the goal for the True Jedi Rank. As now you will have a lot of free time and a wide area to explore you can collect a lot of studs. During your exploration, you should notice a power droid roaming around.
You will need to ride it to the front of the Millennium Falcon where a connection port is waiting for it. This will activate a few hidden turrets around the level which are incredibly useful once shooting starts. Furthermore, in one of the coves, there are many boxes that yield studs and building blocks for an electrical trap or a turret to defend it. To get the Don’t Get Cocky challenge you need to defeat three stormtroopers with hidden turrets. So it is best to build another turret here to ensure you get the challenge completed.
With that setup, you have everything ready and can commence repairs. Furthermore, the two turrets activated by the droid will work by themselves which is an amazing feature. The following fight will entail a couple of waves of stormtroopers that are easy to deal with.
Challenge #3: Chewie, Get Us Out of Here! Part 1
While exploring the level you may have come across an Astromech Droid console near the door where the first stormtroopers came from. Now you should switch to R2-D2 and interact with the console to block the door. There is another in the other alcove but must be shot open by Luke Skywalker. There is a third door to be blocked but it is in an area that we will later access.
To complete this challenge we must close all three doors, but considering we can’t reach the third we will have to complete this one a bit later. However, while we are at it let’s complete everything we can now until we unlock the next area of this challenge.
Taking a break from the third challenge we can continue exploring the lower level. Once we reach the right alcove near the inaccessible elevator we can collect a Minikit. By using a Hero character to activate the Hero console we can move two boxes to connect them. This will lock the mechanical contraption in place allowing us to access the first Minikit in the pop-up space between the machines.
With the Minikit collected we can get Chewbacca to start on the repairs. To start we must cut open a box near the front of the Millennium Falcon. By using Ben Kenobi with the lightsaber we uncover the Millenium Falcon’s cockpit. Furthermore, if we head to the right we will find a platform where we help Chewbacca access the ship. By now a repair bar will appear on top of the screen signifying the progress of the repairs. Once this bar is visible stormtroopers will start attacking you and your party. As you deal with the enemies Chewbacca will finish the first phase of repairs.
To start the second phase we must use Ben Kenobi and use the force to open the door where we found the platform for Chewbacca. Behind these doors is the Millennium Falcon’s cannon that we must transfer to the ship. As we attach it and Chewbacca begins installation more waves of stormtroppers will attack.
Challenge #3: Chewie, Get Us Out of Here! Part 2
Once the second waves are defeated Chewbacca will finish the cannon installation and get ready for the third phase of repairs. This phase focuses on the radar system as it starts a few stormtroopers ride down an elevator to fight you. Defeat them to gain access to the elevator and reach the upper level. Immediately to the right of the elevator is the last Astomech console for the third challenge. Switch to R2-D2 and interact with the console to close the doors on the upper level to block out any reinforcements.
True Jedi Rank
If you have been actively collecting studs you should have about 80000 by this point. If not there are still a few segments of the mission in which you can collect the remaining studs to achieve a True Jedi Rank at Hunk of Junk. It is best to check out both the top and bottom floors if you are missing a lot of studs.
While you are on the top level you have to go to the right of the Astromech console through the first door. Here you will find some boxes to destroy which drop building pieces that can be assembled into the second Minikit and collected.
Following the second Minikit on either side of the balcony on the upper level are ladders. Climb these and interact with the lever here to drop the satellite dish for Chewbacca to install. Doing this will summon a wave of stormtroopers that you must defeat. Once all are enemies are gone make your way around the circular upper level and check the rooms they came from. In one of these, you will find the Minikit you need to complete 100% of the Hunk of Junk mission. Furthermore, some houses will hold items to break that will yield studs.
With the third Minikit collected and the Satelite repaired it is time to make your escape. With all of the stormtroopers on the upper level swarming you, Chewbacca attempts to open the ramp. Naturally, the ramp is also broken which starts a fourth phase of repairs. Just keep fighting off the endless swarm of stormtroopers until repairs are complete. Before hopping on board check one more time if you have enough studs for the True Jedi Rank. If you do simply approach the ramp to complete the mission.
Hunk of Junk Free Play Walkthrough
For this free play segment, you will have Minikits and Supercountes to collect. To do this and reach 100% on the Hunk of Junk mission you will need a few character types. The character types required are Scavenger and Villain.
Immediately upon defeating the first wave of stormtroopers at the beginning of the mission, head over to the left alcove. Here you will notice two x’s on the wall and a Minikit above them. Now switch to a Scavenger character and use the net launcher scavenger tool on both of them to create a way up. Then just climb up and collect the Minikit and move on to the next collectible.
Finally, the last Minikit is located in the second alcove right of the elevator on the lower level. Here you will need to access the Villain console to be activated for the door to open. First, switch to a Villain character and interact with the console. Now with the door open head towards the connection port on the ground in this alcove. After this hop on a power droid and ride it onto it activating the machine in here. This will crush a small box and reveal the final Minikit. With this, you have completed Hunk of Junk with the True Jedi Rank.
