Red Dead Redemption 3 is the highly anticipated sequel in the Red Dead franchise. Many players fell in love with the first game way back in 2010. The Second game grew this love even further, benefiting Rockstar greatly. Recently many have started to hope for at least the announcement of Red Dead Redemption 3 and GTA 6. The hype is big and only growing as time passes.
Has Red Dead Redemption 3 been confirmed?
Rockstar Games has not yet confirmed Red Dead Redemption 3 but many think that the time will come soon. Everyone is hoping for a surprise announcement of the third iteration of the series. If anything a glimpse into what the developers are thinking the game will look like. Just imagining the systems they could implement is enough to excite any Red Dead Redemption fan.

What game did Rockstar prioritize over Red Dead 3?
Rockstar Games has reportedly doubled down on their decision to prioritize GTA 6 as the next game released. This paired with the cancellation of GTA 4 and the Red Dead remastered is making the chance of us seeing Red Dead Redemption 3 higher. There is a chance that following the release of GTA 6 Rockstar will start working on the third Red Dead game.
GTA 6 is said to already be well underway in early 2022, which was the first official confirmation of development. The caveat here is that the release date of the game is still unknown. Some unofficial inside sources have said that the game can be expected in 2024 at the earliest.
This paired with the studio’s potential interest in completing the remasters upon finishing GTA 6 can push the Red Dead Redemption 3 even further away. But taking into account all the issues they experienced with the GTA Trilogy that launched in such a bad state. Which included so many bugs Rockstar had to issue a public apology. This makes going back to a remaster so recent a risky idea. The best way Rockstar can earn the trust of its consumers and game fans is by releasing GTA 6 and Red Dead Redemption 3.
Why is Red Dead Redemption 3 taking so long?
All the unclear and unannounced plans and developments from Rockstar make Red Dead Redemption 3 feel like a distant dream. But the worst part is not all the games Rockstar has prepared ahead of Red Dead Redemption 3. The worst is that after all this the game still has to go through an intense development cycle to be satisfactory to the player base. Many expect the gap to be even greater than the one from the first to the second game.
It took Rockstar 8 years the first time to implement everything they have in mind. And with how far technology has gotten in recent years it is only natural their ambitions are higher. They certainly wish to implement many innovative and groundbreaking mechanics and sequences. All this of course with the best possible graphics the new generation of hardware will support. Players can at least expect an 8 year gap this time again if not even longer.
This is because rockstar recently experienced one of the biggest leaks in recent history. The leak was on September 19 on the GTAForums site ‘’teapotuberhacker’’ where 90 videos of gameplay from the test build were posted. This leak quickly spread to other social media platforms mainly Twitter, YouTube, and Reddit. Gameplay featured both a male and female playable character including a bank robbery sequence.

Many speculated that the leaks were fake and that this in fact was not GTA 6 but a prank on anticipating fans. This however proved to be false since the legitimacy of the videos was confirmed by Rockstar. This was done via Twitter where the company addressed the illegal access and download of confidential information. The videos have since started getting copyrighted by Take-Two and systematically taken down.
The timeline between Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2
During the long development period Rockstar took their time and managed to polish the third entry in the Red Dead series. The action adventure game is a prequel to the 20 10 game Red Dead Redemption. With the story set in 1899 and following the exploits of outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang. This offers a great representation of the Western, Midwestern and Southern United States.
Developers had a rough outline of what the game would be by mid 2011 and by late 2012 the scripts were completed. But this ambitious project required a large development team with a total of around 2000 people working on the game. The budget for the games combined development was anywhere from 370 to 540 million U.S. dollars. Making Red Dead Redemption 2 one of the most expensive video games to develop. With the games being the first to be specifically built for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Improvements in Red Dead 2 compared to the original
With the release of Red Dead 2 there came many improvements compared to the original but of all the most notable is the better world. The drop-dead gorgeous setting of the prequel is clearly better from the graphic and world-building standpoint. This is in big part thanks to the eight year gap but regardless the graphics make it hard to go back to the original. But what makes the world is the bigger cast and faster pace of the game. Both of which help tell a great storz, albeit a short one. But to compensate the game features tons of side challenges that feature an expansive cast of characters. Each having their own distinctive personalities and subplots, making even hanging out around the campfire an enjoyable experience.
Another large improvement compared to the first game is the marvelous AI Rockstar implemented within the game. Improving the immersiveness of the game and aiding the personalities of the NPC’s. Making them at times feel like real people based on their behavior. As per the gameplay it is improved with better gunplay and unique movement. Which gave Rockstar a great tool to determine pacing in their sequences. Aiding this is the dense open world that makes it so that no 15-minute ride isn’t simply just the ride. There are always activities and random encounters you will come by, making even the simplest horse ride full of surprises and exciting.
What fans expect to see in Red Dead Redemption 3
The eventual release of Red Dead Redemption 3 is sure to take the gaming world by storm and impress its loyal fanbase. Even though the release of the game will not happen for a while, many fans have expressed their thoughts and wishes of what they want to see in Red Dead Redemption 3. The main aspect of the game players are speculating about is what we can expect from the setting and story. It is safe to assume that we will be once again in America and Mexico but the only question is when. Based on the second games past setting many players hope we get to see the continuation to the original Red Dead Redemption.
Another widely popular theory in the fandom is that the third entrz in the series will follow John-s son, Jack Marston. It would be interesting seeing Jack grow up and live the cowboy lifestyle as seen in the epilogue of Red Dead Redemption. The outlaw raised cowboy with a close connection to Arthur Morgan is sure to make for a great main character. But knowing Rockstar we can never quite know exactly what they have up their sleeve.
