  1. Ghost of Tsushima
  2. Horizon: Zero Dawn
  3. Elden Ring
  4. Elemental Hero: Absolute Zero
  5. Apex Legends

If you’re curious as to why we chose these games, keep reading to find out more!

Ghost of Tsushima for PS5

ghost of tsushima best ps5 games

Although Ghost of Tsushima wasn’t one of the PS5 launch titles, the game is notorious for the beauty of its graphics and the quality of its gameplay. Released in July 2020, Ghost of Tsushima follows a samurai, Jin Sakai, on a quest to protect the Tsushima island from the Mongol invasion. Avid fans of the game won’t be surprised to learn that the invasion of Tsushima island was a real event, although we’re not so sure Jin Sakai was a real historical figure.

The charm of this game lies in its combat, story, and characters. Of course, if you’re a fan of oriental Japanese music you’ll love this game even more. The graphics only serve to improve the ambiance and experience of playing Ghost of Tsushima. Overall, this game has very few flaws unless you’re truly nitpicking, and that’s why it’s at the top of our list of the best PS5 games!

Those who truly thought Ghost of Tsushima was a masterpiece will also be happy to learn that the game is getting a film adaptation! The production started in 2022, but we aren’t sure when we’ll get to see the Ghost of Tsushima movie.

Is Ghost of Tsushima for PS5 the same as for PC?

Unfortunately, the PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima is very different from the PC version of the game in the fact that the PS5 version actually exists.

Although there have been rumors and leaks of Sony releasing the game for PC, we’re not quite sure when we’ll get to enjoy the game on PC. If you’ve been following the Nvidia leak, you may already know that this is the source for all the rumors of the PC port of Ghost of Tsushima.

While Nvidia has confirmed that the list is real, they also claimed that it was only used for internal testing. What this means for gamers, unfortunately, is that these games don’t necessarily exist. Because of that, we can only speculate about whether Ghost of Tsushima will be released on PC at all. However, knowing that Sony has ported games like Horizon: Zero Dawn and God of War, the chances are already high!

Horizon Zero Dawn for PS5

horizon zero dawn

If you weren’t too impressed by the graphics and visuals in Ghost of Tsushima, you may take more of a liking to Horizon Zero Dawn. Although the game was originally released for the PlayStation 4, you can also enjoy it on the PS5 thanks to backward compatibility. Horizon Zero Dawn is full of beautiful scenery, exciting combat, and satisfying combat.

It follows the story of Aloy, a young hunter who is on a mission to uncover the truth about her past. On the way, she faces various machines using ranged weapons, a spear, and stealth mechanics. Although the melee combat could use some work, the game is still incredible. What’s better, it runs at 60 FPS on the PS5!

However, if you’re looking for something a little more recent, Horizon Forbidden West is also an option. The game acts as a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn and runs even better on the PS5, though we might be looking at a Zero Dawn remaster soon!

Is Horizon Zero Dawn for PS5 the same as for PC?

Horizon Zero Dawn is a game that originally came out for the PlayStation 4 back in early 2017. However, as of 2020, players can enjoy the game on their Windows PCs, too.

The PC version allows for higher graphics and the introduction of a few mods. All of this helps the game run well if your PC can handle it. Unfortunately, the PC version has a few graphical bugs that some players may not want to see in their game.

These bugs have been patched on the PS5 and you won’t regret buying Horizon Zero Dawn for your PlayStation 5 console.

Elden Ring for PS5

elden ring ps5 game

The hype that Elden Ring received has been very hard to replicate for any video game developer, including FromSoftware. With the company that brought us the Dark Souls franchise as well as worldbuilding from the creator of Game of Thrones, George R. R. Martin, we can see why that is.

Elden Ring is a soulslike game, which means it’s notoriously difficult to beat. You’ll probably find yourself fighting the same boss a handful of times, so you need to make sure you’re a patient person. However, this is exactly the way some people like to play their games, and you might be one of them.

The game puts the player character into the role of a Tarnished, one of the exiles from the Lands Between. The character is on a quest to repair the Elden Ring, which has shattered thanks to the immortal queen Marika, and become the next Elden Lord.

Since then, Elden Ring has widely been regarded as one of FromSoftware’s greatest masterpieces. Even if you’re just getting into soulslike games, definitely give Elden Ring a try!

Is Elden Ring for PS5 same as for PC?

As with pretty much any game, there are a few differences between the PS5 and the PC version of Elden Ring. This is due to the different technical capabilities of these two devices.

While both versions of the game can offer impressive performance, a PC will pretty much always win over the PS5 due to all the upgrades you can make. The PS5 also caps Elden Ring to 60FPS, while you can reach higher framerates on your PC for smoother gameplay.

The PC version also offers modding options. This can help improve your gameplay experience or make it a funnier one by adding ridiculous mods. However, the PS5 will offer better loading times with little effort as you don’t have to change any of the console’s components to do so.

Resident Evil 4 Remake for PS5

resident evil 4 remake

Some may simply refer to Resident Evil 4 Remake as Resident Evil 4. However, the game is indeed a remake of the infamous 2005 game Resident Evil 4. It follows US agent Leon S. Kennedy on a mission to save the daughter of the president of the United States. To do this, he must travel to Spain and come face to face with the Los Illuminados cult.

Overall, Resident Evil 4 Remake has proven to be an amazing and faithful reimagining of the original. Boasting improved graphics, an updated plot, and better gameplay, faithful Resident Evil fans won’t mind looking at Leon for the 16 hours of playtime this game gives you. Its already gripping story becomes even more so with the atmospheric visuals the remake delivers, and it’s safe to say it’s one of the best games you can play on the PlayStation 5.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Collector’s Edition

For those who want to take their love of Leon S. Kennedy even further, CAPCOM offers you a Resident Evil 4 Remake Collector’s Edition! This edition of the game comes with the following content:

  • Resident Evil 4
  • Extra DLC Pack Product Code
  • Digital Soundtrack
  • Leon S. Kennedy Figure
  • Artbook
  • Special Map
  • Collector’s Box

The Collector’s Edition gives you a variety of awesome Resident Evil memorabilia. However, it also comes at the whopping price of $249.99! We suppose that’s why they call it the collector’s edition of the game. You also get to enjoy first-hand the new Resident Evil 4 DLC!

Apex Legends for PS5

apex legends

Apex Legends is the type of game for gamers who enjoy sitting back and unwinding with some friends. Well, either that or you just love being better than everybody else. Either way, this battle royale shooter is the perfect fit for you! Your task is to eliminate all other players that aren’t in your three-player squad to claim victory.

Truth be told, Apex Legends is far from a new game. It’s already been 4 years since its release, but the PlayStation 5 port is barely a year and a half old. Still, it seems as though Respawn Entertainment did not cheap out on the port quality, as the game still runs very well on the console.

Apex Legends deserves a spot on our list simply for the fact that it gained 25 million players in its first week as well as 50 million within the first month of the game’s release. By April 2021, it had a player count of approximately 100 million, and we’re sure the number has only grown since then. These impressive numbers make Apex Legends one of the most-played video games of all time in terms of player count.

Is Apex Legends for PS5 the same as for PC?

While the controls are definitely different for the two platforms, not much else is. Apex Legends run great both on the PS5 as well as the PC, so you don’t have to worry about sacrificing a gameplay element for performance or otherwise.

It’s important to note that Apex Legends does support crossplay, so you don’t have to get roped into playing the game on PC just because your friends want to play with you. You can play with anyone, regardless of platform! This includes PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and even Nintendo Switch!

However, you need to be sure you’re choosing the platform you truly want to play on. This is because Apex Legends doesn’t support cross-progression, meaning you can’t access your PS5 data on your PC. Unfortunately, your progress will not carry over.

Which one of these games is top-selling?

In the world of video games, the sales don’t always have to tell you much about the game. However, if the sales are astonishingly successful, then it must mean the game is good for some reason, right?

If you’re wondering which of these best PS5 games is the top seller, have a look at the list below:

  • Elden Ring – 20 million units
  • Horizon: Zero Dawn – 24.3 million units
  • Ghost of Tsushima – 9.73 million units
  • Apex Legends – 0 units (Apex Legends is free-to-play)

While Apex Legends is free to play, the game has made over $2 billion in its lifetime thanks to microtransactions and loot boxes available to buy in the game. Thanks, EA!

Comparing Family PS5 and Kids PS5 games

When we talk about the different types of PS5 games, we often hear the words family PS5 games and kids PS5 games. While some may argue there is virtually no difference, we think there are a few criteria that factor in.

For example, family PS5 games are games that the entire family can enjoy. These are usually games that support more than 2 players. When we think of family PS5 games, we think of games such as Overcooked or Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. It’s also important for the games to have a family-friendly rating so parents can enjoy the game with their kids without any worries.

On the other hand, kids PS5 games don’t necessarily have to be multiplayer. They can be single-player or even 2-player games. The main focus is the fact that the content of the game needs to be kid-friendly. This means no elaborate and gory boss battles, violence, or swearing.

Are Multiplayer and Couple PS5 games the same?

Two more buzzwords we hear when looking for the best PS5 games are multiplayer and couple PS5 games. The line between these two types of PS5 games is a bit thinner than in the family and kids PS5 games situation.

For starters, multiplayer PS5 games can also be couple PS5 games. As long as you can play the game with a minimum of two players, you can consider it a couple game. However, multiplayer PS5 games are also meant to be enjoyed with friends in groups. For example, you can play Apex Legends with up to 2 other friends. If you don’t have a third friend, the game will assign a random to your squad so you can play unobstructed.

However, you can only really categorize a 2-player game into a couple PS5 game. Theoretically, you could also play the game with your friend, but you know what the gist is.

Should I buy a PS5?

It’s been almost 3 years since the PlayStation 5 came out and it’s definitely still holding up when it comes to the price. Additionally, the PS5 is still notoriously hard to get in some countries, which makes the price mark-up even worse. Even so, the console has been receiving some great updates including a new chassis

We don’t even have to mention the fact that some of the best games out there are PlayStation 5 exclusives. This means you don’t get to play them on any other console. Such examples are Final Fantasy XVI, which recently came out, and the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Overall, the choice of whether to buy a PS5 or not actually depends on what kinds of games you’re into. If most of the games you play are available on a cheaper console or a platform you already have, such as a PC, it’s probably not worth getting the PS5.

However, if you like the convenience that the PS5 offers and already have experience with the PS4, you may want to consider investing in a PlayStation 5 after all.

How many PS5 games are there?

It’s hard to tell the exact amount of games that are out for the PlayStation 5. However, a quick look at Wikipedia tells us that there are approximately 571 games natively available on the PlayStation 5.

This number doesn’t include backward-compatible games such as ones for the PS4. However, the PlayStation 4 has approximately 3323 titles available to play. All but six of these titles are backward-compatible with the PlayStation 5.
