Valheim Cheats – Command Console Cheat Codes

The best thing about playing video games is the fact that everyone can play them differently. Of course, some might argue that this is not all that good of a thing and that it can cause issues between players. However, when you’re playing a single-player game you can feel free to do your own thing and play how you want.

Valheim is a game that offers both multiplayer and single-player. Nevertheless, some friends may not appreciate your playstyle if it involves cheating. And besides, Valheim cheats are automatically turned off for this game mode. For that reason, you’ll probably want to be looking at this guide only when you’re playing Valheim alone.

It’s no secret that pretty much every game has a command console where you can enter cheat codes. The main function of these is for developers to do bug testing and check if certain game features work. However, they may also leave them in the game to allow players more freedom in how to play their game.

Whether you’re looking to regain some hard-earned lost items or you don’t want to worry about materials and just want to relax while building your house, we’ve got you. Use our Valheim cheats list to achieve anything you want in this open-world survival game! Without further ado, let’s get cheating.

Listen Article Brief:

How to enable cheats in Valheim and how to use them?

There are different ways to enable cheats in Valheim depending on the platform you’re playing on. Valheim is currently available only on PC and Xbox. Luckily, Valheim cheats are available on both of these platforms.

The methods are different for the Steam version and PC Game Pass version of Valheim.

To be able to use cheats and console commands in Valheim, you’ll need to enable them. For the Steam version, you’ll first have to find Valheim in your Steam library and right click it then select Properties. Find the General tab and the Launch Options field. In this field, type in “-console” and close the window. Then you have to enable the cheats in-game by pressing F5 to open the console commands box and type in “devcommands”.

The PC Game Pass version is a bit more tricky. You’ll have to navigate to the game’s installation folder and find Valheim.exe. Then, right-click the file and select Create shortcut, then drag it to your preferred location. Now right-click the shortcut, select Properties, and add “-console” in the Shortcut tab to the end of the Target field. Don’t forget to click Apply before clicking OK to close the window. If you want to use cheats, you have to launch the game from this shortcut. This lets you press F5 to open the console commands box just like in the Steam version.

To enable cheats on Xbox, simply hold down LT, RT, LB, and RB then press the Xbox menu button. This opens the console commands box where you can also type in “devcommands” to enable cheats.

Special note for Steam users, you’ll have an additional step before you can activate cheats in Valheim. Find Valheim in your Steam library and right click it then select Properties. Find the General tab and the Launch Options field. In this field, type in “-console” and close the window.

Now that you’ve done this, you can use any cheat in the game by typing it into the console command box. To turn off cheats, you just have to type in “devcommands” into the box again to disable cheats in Valheim.

Now we get to the fun part which is using the Valheim cheats!

How to Spawn Any Item and Monster

Spawning any entity using Valheim cheats is simple. You need to use the following command:

  • spawn [entity name] [amount] [level]

The entity name refers to the name of the item or character you want to spawn. The amount refers to the number of entities you want to spawn. If you’re looking to spawn monsters, level refers to the level of the mob you want to spawn and can only be a value between 1 and 3.

You’ll need the Item ID of the entity you want to spawn, whether that’s an item or a monster.

All Valheim Spawn Commands

You can find the item IDs of all entities in the game below. Combine them with the spawn command to spawn the entity in your Valheim game. Note that capitalization is important when entering the item ID of the entity. If you don’t capitalize properly, the entity won’t spawn.

How to Enter Creative Mode (Debug Mode) in Valheim

As with any open-world survival game such as Minecraft, Valheim also has a creative mode. Although you can start a world in creative mode, also known as Hammer mode in Valheim, the question is how to turn a survival mode into a creative mode.

You can enter creative mode using Valheim cheats. Well, technically this isn’t a cheat as much as it is a console command, but still.

To enter creative mode in Valheim enter “debugmode” in the console.

This mode lets you build anything without any necessary resources. Monsters will also not attack the player.
